Lottery bonus terms: eligibility, wagering and expiry

Identify who qualifies, the required action, the reward type and its use or expiry conditions. A bonus headline is neither cash nor an accepted entry.

Short answer

Read a promotion as a separate contract: identify who can claim it, what action qualifies, what the reward actually is and whether any wagering or expiry condition applies. A bonus headline is not a cash balance or an accepted lottery entry. Missing terms are a reason to pause, not assume the easiest interpretation.

This checklist does not confirm that a particular bonus is currently available, suitable or permitted for a reader's market.

Classify the reward before doing arithmetic

A ticket, a syndicate share, restricted bonus funds, spins, discount points and cash are different benefits. First establish which one is offered. A nominal amount next to the word “bonus” does not tell you whether it can be withdrawn, redeemed only against a particular product or used within a short window.

The LottoPark Bonus Policy distinguishes several reward types and says specific offer terms govern the relevant conditions. It also separates promotional lottery entries from casino wagering rules. That is a policy description, not evidence that every listed promotion is active or that this reader qualifies.

For the participation underlying a ticket reward, read official tickets versus lottery betting. Calling something free does not settle what the resulting entry buys.

EligibilityMarket, age, account status and any first-customer restriction
Qualifying actionRequired opt-in, code, payment or accepted purchase

Permitted useEligible product, draw, games or payment method

Keep a copy of the specific conditions attached to the offer, together with its identifier and check date. Do not combine a headline from one page with eligibility terms from another regional account or a different campaign.

Our Pennsylvania Lottery review provides a separate example to read alongside this worksheet. Keep the offer, reward and accepted entry identified; the review does not establish a currently available promotion.

For an introductory offer linked to continuing participation, our Scottish Children’s Lottery review separates offer acceptance, payment timing, recurring authority and the intended main-draw entry. Its fictional Morgan worksheet asks what commitment the participant wants before activation; it supplies no current offer, cancellation deadline or participation confirmation.

A multiplier needs a base

An expression such as “two times” is incomplete until the terms identify the amount it multiplies. For a fictional bonus of 50 units with a two-times requirement applying only to that bonus, the stated qualifying volume would be 100 units. These figures explain arithmetic only; they are not an available offer or a recommendation to place those wagers.

Qualifying volume is not the amount you will win, nor a fixed amount you can expect to lose. If different games contribute differently, identify the applicable contribution before drawing a conclusion. Do not assume an ordinary lottery entry contributes to a casino requirement or vice versa.

Completing a requirement faster is not a reason to increase spending. If the conditions demand more gambling than you already intended, declining the optional promotion is a valid decision.

Keep the jurisdiction attached to any regulatory rule

The Gambling Commission's published final wording on wagering limits describes a maximum ten-times requirement for relevant incentives, effective from 19 January 2026, within its licensing framework. It is not a worldwide rule or evidence that LottoPark is authorised to offer a particular promotion in Great Britain.

The Commission's deposit-withdrawal guidance also distinguishes deposit money from promotional balances. Read the applicable regulator's rules and the actual operator terms rather than transferring one market's protections to every account.

Confirm the result of activation

A promotional email, a code entered into a form or a successfully funded account does not by itself tell you that the reward was accepted and issued. Check the stated reward status and the eligible product through the normal account view. If something is missing, ask support about the original reference instead of depositing again in an attempt to trigger it.

For a ticket reward, retain the accepted entry and draw details. For a share, retain the denominator described in our syndicate guide. A visible promotional balance does not replace either record.

Before accepting, ask whether the offer changes withdrawal or cancellation conditions for promotional funds and how it sits alongside your own cash. For stopping future participation, use cancellation versus account closure. Evaluate the complete optional commitment; the largest advertised reward is not automatically the most useful one.
