This review of Happdrætti Háskóla Íslands (HHI) separates the person providing the money, the intended ticket holder and the month of participation. An amount leaving a bank account does not, by itself, answer who the participation record names or which draw it covers. Review those details together before treating a payment or renewal message as a complete answer.
This review concerns the displayed HHI ticket channel. It does not cover every product carrying the same name. The ticket-rule page has no visible edition date, and we have not established the version accepted by an individual customer, a selected checkout total or an individual outcome.
HHI ticket finder distinguishes ticket categories; checkout details remain unreviewed.
HHI ticket rules link ownership and winnings to the registered owner.
Start with the person the purchase is for
Before paying, write down the intended recipient and what you expect to buy. A gift, a purchase for yourself and a contribution towards another person's ongoing participation can look similar on a bank statement. They ask different questions about the record you need afterwards.
If the arrangement involves two people, agree who will preserve the participation documents and who will check the next month. Avoid using “our ticket” as the only description. It hides the very distinction that matters when a name, payment instruction or claim record later needs clarification. Our guide to ticket ownership and custody explains how to map those roles.
The following example is entirely invented. Elin intends to pay for a ticket associated with Siggi. Her folder contains payment P1 and ticket reference T1. A message shows person record O1, but Elin has not yet checked whether its displayed details identify the person she intended. Month M1 is written on a separate confirmation. Nothing in this example proves that HHI has accepted a purchase.
Build one file for the intended month
Keep the four items together. Record their actual wording and the date you obtained them; do not replace a missing field with an assumption.
| Item in the fictional folder | What Elin records | What remains to check |
|---|---|---|
| Ticket reference T1 | The reference as displayed | Whether the other documents refer to this same participation |
| Person record O1 | The person actually named | Whether that matches Siggi, the intended holder |
| Payment P1 | Amount, date and status shown | What the payment evidence establishes about this participation |
| Month record M1 | The stated month or draw | Whether its scope matches T1 and the intended period |
A difference is a reason to seek a precise answer, not to silently edit the folder until it looks consistent. For example, payment P1 might mention a reference absent from M1. Preserve that mismatch and ask which participation the amount concerns. The answer should resolve the missing connection, rather than merely repeat that an amount was received.
Separate the next month from the current one
When deciding whether to continue, start a new line for M2. Keep evidence for M1 in its own line. A message about one month should not be used as the answer to an unanswered question about another.
The decision can be recorded without guessing what an instruction will do:
| Intended decision | Record to request or preserve |
|---|---|
| Continue for M2 | A response identifying the intended participation and period |
| Change or end an ongoing instruction | The instruction sent, its acknowledgement and the period addressed |
Read our subscriptions and renewals guide when comparing recurring arrangements. If your decision concerns ending participation, subscription cancellation versus account closure helps you express the intended change clearly. Neither link supplies the missing answer for a particular HHI file.
Ask one question that resolves the mismatch
A useful enquiry names the documents and the uncertainty: “Payment P1 and month record M1 show different references. Which participation and month does each identify?” For a two-person arrangement, ask which record identifies the intended holder. Keep the reply with the original documents.
For a gift, start with recipient ownership before assuming the person who paid is also the person named. If a winning result later creates a separate enquiry, our claiming winnings guide helps keep the participation evidence and claim documents connected. A notification alone does not fill every field in that file.
Frequently asked questions
Does my bank payment identify the ticket owner?
It identifies the payment evidence you hold. Compare that document with the person named in the participation record; do not infer the latter solely from who funded the transaction.
Can I reuse last month's confirmation for a later month?
Preserve it for the period it identifies. Open a separate line for the later month and obtain an answer covering that period instead of extending the earlier document's scope yourself.
What should I do if the intended recipient and displayed person differ?
Keep both the original record and your intended arrangement clear. Ask which document resolves the difference before relying on the purchase as evidence of that arrangement. This review cannot decide an individual customer's outcome.
