Short answer
If you want a protective gambling restriction, request self-exclusion clearly and stop playing while it is handled. Ask the operator to confirm how it will stop future participation, deal with recurring instructions and resolve already accepted entries. Request the return of eligible cash through support without asking to restore access to gambling.
Do not wait for every subscription or payment question to be resolved before sending the protective request. Those issues can be identified in the same message and handled alongside the restriction.
Make the protective purpose explicit
Cancelling one subscription, taking a temporary break and requesting self-exclusion can lead to different controls. The cancellation versus account closure guide explains those choices. This guide concerns the next procedural problem: stopping new participation while the operator still holds money or records for earlier entries.
Use the verified responsible-gambling channel and state that you want self-exclusion. Include the account reference, enough contact information to identify you and the period required by the operator's process. Ask which domains and products the restriction covers. Do not send passwords or private medical records as part of an initial account instruction.
Its responsible-gambling policy, effective 22 September 2026, covers its lottery and casino domains. It asks customers to identify outstanding withdrawals and confirmed lottery orders when requesting exclusion. This is a particular operator's published procedure; we have not tested its account controls.
Separate the items that need resolution
Give support a short inventory if you have the information available. You do not need to continue browsing games or placing orders to assemble it. Existing confirmations, transaction messages and payment records may be enough to identify the relevant activity.
| Item | Decision to obtain from support |
|---|---|
| Renewable subscription | What happens to future renewals and funding instructions? |
| Finite purchase covering future draws | Which entries are already accepted, and how will their outcome be communicated? |
| Unspent cash | How will the eligible amount be returned while gambling remains restricted? |
| Pending withdrawal | Is the existing request still being processed, and what remains necessary? |
| Promotional balance | How is it distinguished from cash that can be returned? |
Ask for separate answers if the reply combines everything into one account total. A subscription schedule, an accepted entry and a pending payment are different records.
Confirm future participation separately from accepted entries
Stopping new gambling does not itself tell you what happens to a valid entry already committed to a draw. LottoPark's policy distinguishes those two states: exclusion prevents new gambling, while previously confirmed entries and legitimate winnings remain subject to resolution under the relevant rules. Its terms also distinguish recurring-purchase consent from the accepted record of participation.
For your own service, ask support to identify the last accepted entry, any future renewal instruction and the effective time of the restriction. Do not assume that every prepaid draw must be refunded, or that a visible future draw automatically represents a new purchase made after exclusion. The accepted record and the operator's explanation should establish its status.
For the difference between a finite multi-draw purchase and a renewable product, see lottery subscriptions and renewals. Apply that distinction to the existing records without activating a new product.
Arrange the remaining payment without reopening gambling
Ask how support will return eligible cash and communicate any necessary verification steps while the restriction remains effective. If the usual withdrawal button is inaccessible, request the operator's support procedure rather than another player account or an unrestricted login.
LottoPark's policy states that eligible cash can be returned subject to necessary checks without further betting, completing a promotional target or reopening gambling. That statement should not be turned into a universal promise of immediate payment. A specific identity or payment-ownership question may still need an answer.
Another scoped example appears in LottoMart's terms, version 2.5 effective 30 April 2026: when GAMSTOP exclusion has taken effect on its systems, the customer must contact support to arrange withdrawal of the remaining Cash Balance. This concerns that UK-facing operator and named exclusion process.
Ask support to state the withdrawable amount, payment route, outstanding requirement and reference. Keep cash, bonus funds and an unresolved prize claim separate. Use identity checks before a lottery withdrawal if documents are requested, and claiming lottery winnings if a prize needs its own handling procedure.
Keep the restriction and resolution records together
Preserve the request time, acknowledgement, activation confirmation, scope and selected period. Also keep the separate references for withdrawals and accepted entries. A sent request establishes when you contacted the operator; its confirmation explains the control applied and its effective time.
Do not place a test order or deposit to check the restriction. Do not use another account or service to evade it. Ask support for confirmation if a control is unclear, and use independently verified support options appropriate to your location if you need help maintaining the restriction.
If a charge or entry appears later, compare its processing time and reference with the restriction confirmation. Ask whether it relates to a previously accepted entry, a scheduled instruction that should have stopped or an error requiring correction. Preserve the response and use the complaint evidence guide for an unresolved dispute.
The useful completion record confirms both outcomes: the protective restriction is active, and each remaining cash payment or accepted entry has an identified resolution route. An unresolved payment should remain a support matter; it is not a reason to resume gambling.
