Clever Lotto review: German eligibility, receipts and payouts

Clever Lotto mediates official German lottery participation. Confirm the accepted receipt and full price; public payout thresholds disagree and require clarification.

Clever Lotto arranges participation in official German lotteries through its app. The central review question is whether your order became an accepted lottery entry, and which receipt and prize process apply. A payment or a jackpot displayed on screen does not answer those questions.

Checked on 6 October 2026 using public operator documents and the German regulator’s register. No account, purchase, identity submission or payout was tested.

Who operates Clever Lotto?

The site’s legal notice names Next Lotto GmbH in Konstanz. The GGL whitelist lists that company for commercial lottery mediation across Germany, with cleverlotto.de, nextlotto.de and lottoscanner.de.

Those three domains are related channels, rather than three independent companies. This review covers Clever Lotto’s published contract. It does not transfer that contract to every Next Lotto domain. When following a different brand or app, check its own legal notice and terms before assuming the same fees or account arrangements.

Can you use it outside Germany?

The verification help requires an adult customer, German residence and a German bank account, with identity verification. A separate travel help page says participation is only possible while in Germany.

Treat residence and current location as separate checks. Having an existing account does not establish permission to order while travelling. An English review also does not mean the service is offered worldwide.

The homepage presents LOTTO 6aus49, Eurojackpot and GlücksSpirale, and says it does not offer Powerball, Mega Millions or EuroMillions. Readers looking for those products need a different comparison. Our service-model guide explains why game availability should be considered alongside the participation contract.

What confirms an accepted entry?

The terms, sections I and II.8, describe mediation of a separate contract with a lottery organiser. Following organiser acceptance, Clever Lotto sends a Spielquittung containing entry details and the ticket number. A trustee holds the organiser’s electronic receipts and handles prize collection under section II.15.

Keep three records together: your order, its draw date and the accepted receipt. If confirmation is missing, ask whether the organiser accepted that particular entry. Asking only whether payment succeeded leaves the important question unanswered.

An electronic receipt should be assessed within this model. A photograph of a shop ticket is a different kind of evidence, so its absence alone is not a useful basis for ranking intermediaries. Read our ticket-proof guide for the questions to ask about acceptance, custody and access to records.

How should you compare the price?

Section II.12 of the terms describes the charge as the lottery stake plus Clever Lotto’s service fee, disclosed before ordering. We have not captured a comparable checkout basket and cannot establish a cheapest-provider claim.

The purchase instructions show choices including lines, add-on lotteries, draw days, duration and a recurring ticket. Those choices make a headline price an incomplete comparison.

Record before comparingPractical reason
Exact game and draw dateMatch the participation being purchased.
Lines and optional extrasAvoid comparing different quantities or products.
Draws covered by the paymentSeparate a single draw from several weeks.
Full stake and service chargeCompare the amount actually payable.
Recurring settingIdentify whether another order may follow.

Use the fee guide to compare matched entries, rather than treating a promotion as the permanent cost.

What remains unclear about payouts?

The public documents disagree on payout thresholds. Section II.15 of the terms uses a €250 balance-and-prize threshold and additional documentation above €2,500. The payout help article instead uses €1,000 and €10,000 thresholds, with estimated processing periods. Its summary also conflicts with its main text.

We cannot resolve that discrepancy from the public pages. Ask support which rule governs your account, whether the amount goes to the app balance or directly to your bank, and which documents are required. Save the dated answer. Published estimates are not evidence of a payout we observed, so this review promises no withdrawal time.

Does “no subscription” mean no renewal?

The cancellation help says there are no subscriptions but separately mentions cancelling a Dauerschein, or recurring ticket. The terms, section II.11, describe automatic extension of that ticket unless cancelled before the current term ends.

Check the instruction attached to your ticket, rather than relying on the subscription label. For account closure, the active-ticket help says to end recurring tickets, await the final draw and settle winnings or balances first. Our cancellation guide separates those steps.

Who should compare Clever Lotto?

Clever Lotto belongs in a comparison of German lottery intermediaries, alongside channels such as LOTTO24. Compare one eligible entry, its receipt and full cost. Before choosing, clarify the conflicting payout information and any recurring instruction. App usability, support response and real transaction performance remain untested here.
